The Tasmanian Chinese Arts and Communication Society (TCACS) showcases a wide variety of Chinese culture through instrumental presentations and traditional dance. Portraying over 56 different Chinese ethnic groups, the performances incorporate traditional Chinese instruments, such as the guzheng and the erhu.
What is cultural performance and why is it important? We spoke to Ian Williams, the Managing and Artistic Director at ExitLeft Performance Academy, the performance company who trains our Inspire performers and helps them become “stage ready”.
Mwase performs traditional Malawian dance, percussion, story telling and singing. Hiss friends and family describe him as “funny, very passionate about things and engaging” and he love it when an audience becomes involves and participates in one of his performances.
